SFU SharePoint 2019 was permanently retired on May 1, 2026 due to Microsoft’s end of support, resulting in increased security and compliance risk.
Retirement Timeline
- November 2024: Site owners informed about the retirement and migration pathways
- November 2024 – January 2025: Individual meetings with site owners; content inventories for migration shared.
- Summer 2025 – April 2026: Multiple reminders and follow-ups shared with site owners
- April 7, 2026: Final reminder issued to site owners
- May 1, 2026: Full retirement and shutdown of the service
What This Means for You
- This SharePoint 2019 site is no longer available. Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online are SFU’s supported platforms for collaboration and internal document management.
- Content not migrated before May 1, 2026 cannot be recovered. All sites, data, and documents hosted on the platform are no longer accessible or recoverable.
- Migrated content For questions relating to completed content migrations, please reach out to your site owner.
